Bangla Biennale – Origins
The first Bangla Biennale took place in Komdhara, Hooghly district (26 December 2018 – 20 February 2019). Organized by Narrative Movements, it introduced contemporary art to rural settings while emphasizing Bengal’s historic role in cultural movements. With over 200 artists from India and abroad, the Biennale featured exhibitions, culture & contemporary events, and community activities for awareness that fostered cross-cultural exchange, sustainability and lasting impact.
Bangla Biennale Second Edition 2026
The upcoming Bangla Biennale Second Edition (2026) is a landmark cultural initiative scheduled for 15th To 25th November 2026 in West Bengal, India. Biennales are global art festivals held every two years, fostering cultural exchange and socio-economic growth. The 2026 edition is envisioned as a holistic cultural festival that will encompass art exhibitions, live performances, interactive workshops, academic seminars, artist residencies, documentary screenings, and a wide range of educational programs.


We conduct diverse art workshops that create meaningful spaces for cultural exchange. Through these interactions, our dedicated artists work closely with villagers, nurturing their creativity and helping them express their ideas with confidence.

Narrative Movements celebrate tribal dance as a vibrant expression of life. It reflects everyday stories, traditions, and emotions—shared with joy, rhythm, and a spirit of togetherness. We works to preserve and promote tribal culture through traditional art forms such as painting, dance, and drama. It also supports education and socio-economic development within tribal communities, while establishing a tribal museum to document and celebrate their rich heritage.
